King), announce that they have concluded a Distributorship Agreement in Japan.

With the continued intensification of global competition, demand for streamlining of manufacturing operations to achieve cost reduction, and shortages in the workforce due to the declining birthrate and aging population of Japan, the importance of digital innovations through use of IoT and AI in manufacturing sites, such as in Industry 4.0 and smart factories, is becoming greater and greater. In the undertaking of digital innovations, there is a demand for the ability to acquire the mass data generated by industrial systems with short sampling frequency and to perform data processing and data analysis in real time.

FogHorn Lightning, developed by FogHorn and provided by Macnica Networks, not only enables real-time acquisition of mass data generated by industrial systems, but also performs data formatting and other types of data cleansing at the time of data acquisition, and then performs stream data analysis and machine learning in real time. This means that analysts do not need to worry about data cleansing. After data cleansing, the data can also be stored in external databases or cloud services. Also, because the data formatting is carried out in real time in the desired format of the user, there is no need to change the settings of existing industrial systems in order to adjust the log format. Moreover, the tedious programming for data processing can be easily set with a GUI (control screen).
FogHorn Lightning not only allows data analysts to perform real-time analysis, but also enables edge computing at manufacturing sites, such as visualization and statistical analysis of data, machine learning, use of AI, etc., making it possible to speedily and easily implement digital innovations in manufacturing sites.

Along with our partners, Macnica Networks is now expanding the domestic market for FogHorn Lightning in Japan, as FogHorn’s primary distributor. In this regard FogHorn’s CEO, David C.
